Lake Charles LNG receives FERC Final Environmental Impact Statement

Lake Charles LNG's receipt of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) Final Environmental Impact Statement represents a key regulatory milestone for the three-train liquefaction project in Louisiana. The US Department of Energy has conditionally granted authorization to a jointly owned subsidiary of BG Group and Energy Transfer to export up to approximately 15 mtpa of LNG from the project to non-Free Trade Agreement nations. FERC authorization for Lake Charles LNG – the last major regulatory hurdle – is expected during the next 90 days. Final investment decision on the project is expected next year.
